mid~week randomness

* Good Beautiful Wednesday Everyone!!!!

* Beware of this randoms post because I have LOTS on my mind : )

* My Mom, and Hanah and Jesh got in last night, and just left a few minutes ago this morning... They drove down to pick up their new family member, Peaches : )  She's such a sweet kitty! So glad she found a home! And it was nice to see the family, even though it was such a short visit.

* I am still on a Disc Golf high from the tournament this past weekend... it was just so exciting : )

* I have met several people through playing Disc Golf and I'm kind of sad that I may not ever see some of them again... Hopefully next year at the tournament I have a chance to see them!

* Okay : )  enough of Disc Golf.... for now...  It was really weird waking up this morning and not getting an email from Weston... or talking to him... Transportation came and packed up all of his stuff yesterday so I will not talk to him until he lands in the States... although I know Weston and he will find a way to call me for a few minutes just to "hear my voice" : )

* In exactly a week I will be waking up next to my husband, and hopefully this time, longer than just a few weeks. 18 months is a long time, and things have changed. Me and the girls have a schedule, a really nice routine that works for us. Our lifestyle before the military and our lifestyle after is a lot different. I realize it will be an adjustment for Weston (I hope he brings lots of PATIENCE with him :) ). He hasn't been with the girls for more than a few weeks, and with it just being us at home. They have grown up, there's drama, the girls are in the constant fighting and tattling stage...

* The company that is moving us came out yesterday to get an idea of everything they will need to bring, after he left it really set in that I am fixin' to move. I have mixed feelings about it. I want to be with my husband and go where he goes... but I am going to miss Georgia A LOT! I love it here. Making the decision to move to here was the best decision for me and the girls. For everything personally that I have gone through I can't imagine having to go through the same things still working a full time job, still stressing over who is watching my kids every Saturday while I work... I have such an appreciation not only for spouses whose spouse is deployed, but the one left behind, working a job, and taking care of the kids, and finances, and keeping everything at home running, while missing their spouse and going through the hardships that come along with a spouse being overseas. It's hard. So many times everyone focuses on the Soldier who is overseas without their family, but the one left behind is a true hero too! I have HATED everything we have gone through as a family the past year... but... had Weston not gone to Korea, I wouldn't have had the opportunity to come to Georgia and spend an amazing 7 months with my Dad and family here. I have loved every minute of it, and so have my girls! I wouldn't trade the past 7 months for anything... While being here I have found me again, I have new passions, I have so many things I want to do... my eyes have been opened to many different things. It has been truly a time that I will always treasure!

* It's so weird to know that I'm fixing to move and I'm not doing anything to prepare for that move... I feel like I should be packing everything up! So nice that I don't have to : )  Not only do I not have to pack, but they take everything apart and put everything back together in our new home! Weston will be glad he won't have to mess with that bunk bed!

* The Disc Golf Player's Cup is in Austin, TX this week, and this evening Avery and Valarie Jenkins and Nate Doss are giving a free clinic! I'm so bummed because Austin according to MapQuest is only an hour and 22 minutes away!! That's one thing I am excited to be moving to Texas for, Disc Golf... I hope I get the opportunity to meet a few Pro women players and get some tips, and I definitely plan on playing in as many tournaments as I can! I know I said enough of Disc Golf, but I can't help it : )  I'm excited for Weston and me and the girls to play a lot while in Texas. With my winnings from the tournament I got Weston a disc golf bag and a disc (and me a disc too). So we are all set to go when we get there!

* It's a cloudy, rainy day here in Georgia, and Abi and I are planning on making Chocolate Mint cookies and I'm hoping for a nap later ; )  Hope everyone has a blessed week!

Josh Franklin Memorial at Chehaw

I had my first PDGA sanctioned tournament this past weekend, it was also my first singles disc golf tournament. I had SO much fun! I'm wanting to say they had close to 40 people competing in the tournament, with two Pro players there. In the Women's Rec. division there were 3 of us girls. All 3 of us got along really well and we had a blast playing!

Friday I went out to Chehaw park and helped do some things to prepare for the tournament, Friday night I went to my Dad's to help get some last minute things done and one of the Pros, Geoffery "Toad"  McReynolds, was staying at their house. I got to pick his brain about disc golf and he gave me a brand new putter, which just so happened to be pink : ) I love the putter!

Saturday EARLY morning, we headed to the disc golf course, being the first ones there I took advantage of some time and Toad worked with me on throwing off the tee box for about 30 minutes. It helped me out SO much, Throughout the competition I had some great shots that I was super proud of! Thank you so much Toad : )

The first round Saturday morning I felt really good and I finished the round with a 67 and the CTP (Closest to Pin). The second round not only was it tougher, the baskets were moved and I was tired. I ended up finishing that round with a 77, and I was EXHAUSTED! Playing in a tournament was much different, not only are you physically exhausted, but mentally too! I was trying my hardest to focus and make the best shot possible. By the end of the day I was leading in my division by 33 points! I was pretty excited!  Sunday morning we started the 3rd and final round of the tournament...all the baskets were set in the LONG position! It was a tough round, but still so fun : ) I finished the round with a 74 and a total combined scored of 218. The other two girls I played with (who I had a blast with by the way) finished with a 266 and a 267.

Nobody got an Ace during all 3 rounds so after the tournament was over Sunday afternoon we all went out and shot to a basket, whoever Aced it or landed closest to the basket won the Ace fund, which was $52.00! May sound silly but I was nervous to get up there and throw because I was the only girl throwing amongst 30 something guys, so I waited till I couldn't wait anymore. I silently told God I wanted to win this and got up there and threw... and I landed just 3 feet from the basket... and WON : )  I was SHOCKED! And so was everyone else I think! A few more people threw after me, including Candice (one of the girls I played with, and an AWESOME new friend), and I just have to say Candice I was SO proud of your throw, you crushed it! Throw like that every time off the tee box... I will have some serious competition when I come back next year ; )

At the Awards I ended up winning $20.00 in Disc merchandise for winning the CTP, I won the Ace fund, and I also took first place in the Women's Division which was $30.00 in Disc merchandise!  Everyone at the tournament was such a great group of people, it was a great atmosphere and I had so much fun! I've gained new friends and I learned so much!

Have a blessed week!

Happy Endings vs. Disc Golfers

So being a new disc golfer, I admit, I may be a little obsessed... It is alot of fun to me, I love the fact that anybody can play, even my kids, and it's definitely something that we can go do as a family! After I learned how to play it is addicting : )  So the point of this post... I do not watch Happy Endings, I don't have cable, so I don't watch any t.v., but I heard some of the controversy after a show they aired that made fun of disc golf and they called it frolf. Apparently they had a drop in their rating after that and they had a lot of complaints called into the show, and two of the stars decided to "apologize" for what they did to disc golf... It was pretty interesting...

Nate Doss and Valerie Jenkins decided to fire back : )  and although their acting skills are not that great, I still thought it was pretty funny!

So for those of you who want to watch both sides of the apologies, just click on the links above : )

mid~week randoms

* The girls and I had so much fun on our trip to Indiana! The girls were spoiled by my parents and Weston's parents! I got to play lots of disc golf with my Dad, I was very surprised by how good of a player he is! I was able to spend some amazing time with a couple of my friends!! Very glad I was able to make the trip up! Sadly, I am not sure when we will be able to make the trip up to Indiana again : (  This trip was our last trip up for the rest of this year, we will see what the year 2012 holds and when we can get back up there!

* Weston will be home VERY soon... Abi doesn't really understand the whole moving again thing, but Ama does, so she has mixed emotions about her Daddy coming home.  Of course she's ready for her Daddy to be home, but she is not wanting to move... I think she's most scared about starting another school and making friends all over again. But, Ama makes friends very easily. She has such a beautiful heart and I know she will do great at her new school.

* I'm actually pretty surprised with myself at how I am not stressing about everything anymore. I am a planner and the fact that we are moving and have no clue where we will be staying, or I have no clue what school Ama is going to, or how long we will be waiting for our house... there are so many unknowns and I have a peace about it! (That's a miracle in itself!!) I trust God, and I know that He is our provider and everything will work out.

* My disc golf tournament is this coming weekend!! I got lots of practice in this past weekend, playing 5 rounds of 18 holes with Dad! I have a basket in my yard so I should practice everyday this week... I SHOULD :)  we shall see...

* While playing the Mesker course over the weekend I got poison oak... I went all through the woods looking for a disc, I had red lines all over my legs but thought they were scratches....nope, they turned into VERY itchy blisters.

That's all my randomness for now ; )  Here's a few pics of the girls that were taken in Indiana!

mid~week randoms :)

* Fall has finally arrived here in Georgia, and the weather is BEAUTIFUL!! Still have some gnats, hoping they are gone very soon... but the girls are loving the weather, they now spend most of their time outside on the trampoline or in the sand box!! (Which is also nice for the momma :))

* The disc golf tournament is coming up and I have not been practicing like I should... big FAIL on my part... oh well, I will just go out there and have fun!!

*Speaking of disc golf, Sunday afternoon we went with my Granny and Papa to their church picnic, Ama and Abi had a blast playing with all the kids! Here's a couple of pictures of Ama teaching some of the girls how to play disc golf!!

* Saturday afternoon the girls had a birthday party to go to for their friend Ryleigh. It was by far the prettiest birthday party I have ever been to! It was a tea party... When you walked in there were two tables set up and in the center of the tables were all kinds of goodies and sweets! All around the little house were tea cups and you picked one out and got some tea... Ama wasn't too thrilled to have hot tea, so she mainly stuck to the punch, but Abi loved the blueberry tea! They all had feather boas to put on and they got served everything, it was very fancy. The girls loved it and you could tell they felt so special!! Here's a few pictures I snapped with my phone.
The girls showing off their tattoos!

Such a Diva : )

The gorgeous cake!

The birthday girl and Ama and Abi!

* So this is my post of nothing but randoms... and this is probably way too much information to share with the world, but : )  my 3 year old has started sneaking outside to do her "business"... yes I am referring to peeing and pooping, it is absolutely disgusting to me and no matter how many times I have gotten on to her she still manages to do it. She actually went several days without me catching her go potty outside, but Monday I found her outside right by my car door pooping... ewwwww! Seriously I don't get it... Is it that much more exciting to go to the bathroom outside than it is in the potty? So Monday... I did something I hadn't done before... I made her clean it up, because knowing me I would have forgotten about it and stepped in it getting in my car (and that would have made me sick!). She HATED cleaning it up... so hopefully that was the last time she does her "business" outside : )

* My cat's paw is much better! He is back to running on it and being his normal, mischievous self, and all the swelling is gone... thank goodness!

* I have been very stressed the past few days with trying to figure everything out for our move to Texas... Feeling a little better now about everything, just really hoping everything goes through as planned! Weston's vacation to come home before going to Texas still hasn't been approved, I'm anxious to know what the DEFINITE plans will be. As far as him coming home, his plane will be landing later at night, so Ama and Abi will not be going to the airport to pick Weston up with me, instead they will spend the night with their Pops and Nana that night. As of right now, I plan on not telling them that I am going to pick him up, for a couple of different reasons, one, I want to surprise them, and two, if I told them they would beg to go with me, and it would be too hard... they would be so tired, and fussy. So I plan on surprising them with their Daddy when we pick them up the next morning to take Ama to school... I will video tape it I'm sure : )

* The girls are SO excited about going to Indiana this week!! Especially Abi... it is ALL she talks about. So if you think of us Wed. afternoon and Thursday pray for safe travels for the girls and I!! We will make the drive back to Georgia on Monday, the 10th!

* On our way to Indiana tomorrow we will be staying with my Mammaw : )  I haven't seen her in a while and I'm excited to see her!

I decided to post my mid week randoms post today because tomorrow I know that my procrastinator self will be scrambling to pack last minute things, cleaning the car and any other last minute things I need to get done before leaving! Hope everyone has a blessed week!
